Spent more than I can technically afford again at the moment, but, being how much I like this TV series, and the only copies I have are rather fuzzy quality copies recorded off the local PBS station years ago, and the first DVD release from 2001 (which looks rotten on the new TV)...I just couldn't pass this up!

Instead of ordering it from Amazon this time, picked it up at the local "Best Buy" while I was out on a job search. Come to think of it, I think I was out of work when the first one was released also.

I've read numerous online reviews stating that the new set is leaps and bounds better in picture clarity than the previous one, or as well as it can get with standard-def tape sources from the 1970's. The previous set apparently used broadcast copies as the source, while the new set went back to the ORIGINAL source materials. Also, there are John Cleese commentaries on every episode, and new interviews with the cast... been wanting to see how Connie Booth has held up over the years...

I'll be heading to the living room shortly to start watching it, I'll give a report later.

UPDATE: Still a bit "fuzzy" as might be expected from 30 year old videotaped sources, but a VAST improvement over the previous DVD release... oh, and I'd STILL "hit" Connie Booth...
