Fawlty Towers appreciation

[mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

One night I invited a friend over and forced (in a completely non-violent way) her to watch "The Germans" episode with me.

Now she's hooked on Fawlty Towers!

Mission: Success!

Anyone else here convert someone to Fawlty Toweirsm? (Lame name, I know)

So, yeah, just posting because I joined. I hope this community gets more active cause it's really cool to have one for this show. :)

Where has this community been all my life?

I love british comedy and my favourite british shows are
Fawlty towers, Not the nine o'clock news and Little Britain. Yet all the way up there in terms of comedy greats, Australia has some of the funnies comedians and sit-coms in the world. my favourite auzzie comedians are Adam Hills (Spicks and Specks), Lano and Woodley and The Scared Weird Little Guys. Im also a huge fan of Ross Noble and Bill bailey.

Heeey I just wanted to remind everybody to be prepared to watch Fawlty Towers Revisited on your local PBS stations. If you live near me (New Jersey, USA) it is going to air on NJN Saturday December 3rd at 10:00 PM. Everyone else can go here: http://www.fawltytowersrevisited.com/ and click the link up top to find out where and when it is coming on. Or you can just use tv guide!

Also, Happy Thanksgiving to everybody who celebrates today.

My favourite line in the whole of Fawlty Towers has to be:

*Basil shakes fist at ceiling*

"Oh thankyou God, thankyou so bloody much!"

[music |CKY - Shippensburg]

I was watching Shrek 2 a bit ago because of John Cleese's voice over in the film and it got to the part where the fairy godmother pulls up by the window and John's character gets startled and his wife asks him what happened now and he replies, "Oh just an old crusade wound," while holding his leg. I got all excited and was like ooooh that was so Fawlty Towers because of how Basil grabs his leg and goes, "Ooh! Aah! Sorry, the old war wound playing up..." Yeah, it greatly amused me.
